Cara Install Sarg Di Bsd

Hi All,I need a step-by-step tutorial on how to install SARG in a squid3 ubuntu server.I have set up squid3 and I have edited the squid.conf file and squid3 is up and running. Now I need a free tool that will generate reports and give as much info as possible i.e user ip, sites visited, bandwidth usage etc.I have been reading up and it seems that a lot of people are preferring SARG, however I haven't found any installation process that I understand, especially since this is my very first linux installation or working on linux for that matter.Do I need a web server to install SARG? And if so how do I configure one and which IP address do I use for that web server?also will I install SARG in the same ubuntu server that squid3 is running on?Thank you in advance for your assistance.RegardsJB.

Copied fromStep 1: Installing Sarg from SourceThe ‘sarg‘ package by default not included in RedHat based distributions, so we need to manually compile and install it from source tarball. For this, we need some additional pre-requisites packages to be installed on the system before compiling it from source. On Debian based distributions, sarg package can be easily install from the default repositories using apt-get package manager.$ sudo apt-get install sargStep 2: Configuring SargNow it’s time to edit some parameters in SARG main configuration file. Hi Brian,Thanks a mill for this. I made an assumption that you had a web server running even though you asked if you needed one. Just reading a lot and you tend to skip information sometimes.

I should of told you to get Nginx. I prefer Nginx myself. /var/www/ (which is why its all over the sarg directions) is where apache stores its website files. You could try something like webmin or any of its.min counterparts, but configure it for localhost connections only. It provides a myriad of information about your box and everything on it.
